a 5 year old girl

My daughter turned 5 a few days ago. I'm always amazed at what goes on inside her head...

---1---
Siya: Mommy, do you know what goosebugs are?
Ako: Goose bugs??
Siya: Yes, I learned it from Word World. See, when you feel cold, the goosebugs come out of your skin!!
Ako: Ah.. you mean goosebumps!
(and then I see her forehead wrinkling as she memorizes the correct word)

---2---
Siya: Mommy, do you know what are megnuts?
Ako: Meg nuts?
Siya: Yes, we have lots of them. We stick them on the refrigerator, see?
Ako: Ah... you mean magnets?
(and then I see her forehead wrinkling as she memorizes the correct word)

And then a few days later I point to the fridge and tell her to look at the megnuts and she says, "Mommy, they're not megnuts, they're magnets!"

---3---
Ako: So what movie do you want to watch on TV today?
Siya: We're watching Speak-a-boomie! (pointing to Despicable Me)
Ako: It's "De" spicable me..
Siya: ok.. The Speak-a-boomie

---4---
Kuya niya: Let's pretend we're spies and we have to protect ourselves..
Siya: Ok, let's play..
Kuya niya: Uh oh -- there's an enemy.. shoot them! shoot them! Hurry!!!!
Siya: Huh? Ok I'll get my camera..

---5---
Siya: Mommy, look at this ball. I'm bouncing the ball.. Look Mommy!
Ako: Yes, yes, I'm looking
Siya: See how it does not bounce? That's because the ball does not have elasticity!
Ako: Wow, you know what elasticity means?
Siya: Yes, I learned it from Word World..

Thoughts of a very interesting little girl :)
